Sheets

Friday night, we made it through the week! But of course we have a ton to do this weekend so it's just going to fly by! Tomorrow is Karate, Library, The Moore's for a movie & Lunch, Fired Up Pottery, Coyle Carpet, Woodmans, and that's just as of right now. Then Sunday is brunch with the Justin & Jessica and then dinner at Aunt Missy's. This is why after I finish posting this I will be working on homework since I wont have a lot of other time to do it.

So I'm posting about sheets. Why you might ask? Because I LOVE them. I have been purchasing the same set of sheets (different colors) since I worked at Bed Bath and Beyond when I was 18/19 years old. Pure Beech Sateen Sheet Set . I absolutely love the feeling of the sheets and even though they are expensive I will pay the money for them. They feel like an awesome old worn out t-shirt. If you don't mind spending money on sheets and want to try something new, please try them! Scott got these for his V-Day present since he lost our Super Bowl Bet. We needed a new set, and someone had to buy a new one eventually, so the loser got the sheets and the winner got a new jersey!

The Mommy Chronicles

Just finished working out. I've finished Day 24 of the 30 Day Shred, and I've also worked out 6 other times, so avering more than every other day. Still not seeing much for results, which is pretty depressing. I've lost about 3 pounds but I feel like it should be more than that with how much I'm working out..... I still have about 10 more to go. Come on pounds, get off me! I'm going to Florida in 39 days and really don't want to be fat in my swimsuit!

So last week I finished reading The Mommy Chronicles by Sara Ellingston and Stephanie Triplett. The pregnancy part of the book was pretty comicle to me as I could relate to that but for the births and afterwards I didn't enjoy it as much. Don't get me wrong, overall I enjoyed it and it was pretty funny but there were just little comments here and there that made me want to slap these women. They were pretty hard to relate to and I think that's why some of it rubbed me the wrong way, we're just completely different people with different parenting styles. I honestly think I would have enjoyed it more if I would have read it after giving birth to Connor than now because I was less educated in certain things then.

Valentines Day

It's Tuesday night, and like the last several weeks I will be spending it finishing up homework that's due tonight. I do get most of my homework done on Saturday/Sunday but never seem to complete it all, oh well. It should only take about an hour to complete, hopefully not longer than that!

So last week was Valentines Day. We don't go out (to expensive), I don't let Scott buy me flowers (again to expensive for something that dies so quickly), but we do make ourselves a great meal every year. This year we got coconut shrimp, snow crab legs & steaks, yumm! I bought Scott some sheets (he lost our Super Bowl Bet, and we needed new sheets), Connor got a new workbook and a mini pack of wrestling guys, Savannah got some new shoes (Target Clearance!) and her Dolly Priss headband. Scott got me a Reese's Heart & a new movie, and I will be getting a new jersey (that's what I won for our Super Bowl bet!) - it just hasn't' arrived yet. We don't go way out on presents for V-day just a good meal and a couple little things to enjoy! Perfect for us! Oh, and gotta show off Savannah's cute V-Day outfit. My Little Legs - Legwarmers, Headband from Dolly Priss, and the outfit was from Aunt KiKi for her Birthday! Hehe, baby girls are so much fun to get dressed up!

Shaving Cream

So the boys went to the Elimination Chamber last night (with Chrissy/Scott's Sister, and Jim/Scott's Dad), they didn't get home until almost midnight so Connor got to miss his 2nd day of school for the year. It's kind of nice having Scott home in the morning, I'm more motivated in the morning so I'm getting more stuff done that needed to be done!

So last weekend we took the advice of some friends and bought some Shaving Cream for Connor to play with. Cheap Entertainment is always a plus and this definitely was worth the $1 I got it for at the Dollar Store. Connor had a blast playing with it and of course I didn't care if he made a huge mess, so he did. He had a lot of fun drawing letters and we practiced some numbers and then by the end of it Connor was just having fun putting it all over himself, lol. He's already asking when we can do it again, which will probably be soon!

Bedtime Stories

Friday, YAY! Are you excited? I am. My shoulders and back are sore from my workout yesterday so I could use a little down time. Plus I've been bad about getting to bed early this week and it's definitely taking a tole on me, I'm tired!

Last Friday we watched Bedtime Stories featuring Adam Sandler. I know the movie is a few years old but it's the first time we watched it. Scott & I both really enjoyed the story but unfortunately I think it was a little to "old" for Connor and had a hard time sitting and watching it. BUT unless it's a favorite cartoon or wrestling he'll have a hard time watching it, lol. I'm guessing if he was a couple of years older he would have enjoyed it a lot more, oh well. If you haven't seen it I recommend it.

Barbaque Jack Chicken

So Miss. Savannah decided she didn't want to take a nap this morning so hopefully that will mean she'll take a good nap for grandma this afternoon........otherwise we're going to have a very crabby baby on our hands! Oops, I mean toddler! She's not a baby anymore!

So last week I turned to our Taste of Home Cookbook again and turned to page 63 - Barbecue Jack Chicken. Chicken Breasts, Pepper Jack Cheese, and BBQ Sauce. How easy can a recipe be? I followed the recipe in the book exactly and used THIS BBQ Sauce as the topper. Overall it was a very easy and yummy recipe however we had to cook it for a lot longer than is stated in the book.... probably because we used whole chicken breasts instead of half chicken breasts and Scott didn't know what broil meant (lol, we've never actually had to broil something, but I at least knew what it meant - so it had already been in a couple of minutes before I got home and fixed it.). I would probably make this recipe again, maybe try a few different types of BBQ sauce since the flavor of BBQ sauce can be dramatically different.

The Vaccine Book

I'm so tired. Ate way to much food today........... really don't want to exercise tonight, but I really need to since I haven't done it since my class last Thursday night. 47 Days Until Florida, ideally I would LOVE to lose 10 pounds but I'm thinking 5 is a bit more realistic, so we'll go with that.

So I recently finished reading The Vaccine Book by Robert W. Sears M.D., FAAP. I had never thought about questioning the vaccine schedule of my children until I read Creating Healthy Children. I really wish I would have questioned things a lot sooner and read this before Connor was born, but unfortunately I didn't. This book was recommended by a friend, who said it was the most "down the middle, straight facts" of all the vaccine books she's seen. I'm glad I now have the information I need to make an informed decision that will work for my family and me and what I feel is best for them. I do feel vaccines are important, but not all of them, and not necessarily in the time frame and amounts they are given. I urge any new parent or going to be parent to read this. You may still decide to go with what your Dr. recommends but I fully believe you can't make an informed decision until you have all the information. This is a book I picked up at the Library and will either purchase it for reference or check it out a few more times. It's a lot of information to absorb at once and it'll be nice to go back and review. Now I'm going to read a book that Chrissy lent me (I'll actually probably finish it tonight!)

Double Dolly

Monday's suck! I have a headache, Scott had a ton of homework to do tonight so I didn't get a chance to work out........ ugh....... why are Monday's always so bad? Oh well, at least I have a whole another week before I have to deal with a Monday again!

So I wanted to post a picture of these great headbands I purchased on E-bay. Once again I made a purchase from Dolly Priss and I can't be happier. I got an amazing deal by visiting her at her E-Bay Store. You can also find her on ETSY and Facebook as well. If you haven't LIKED her on facebook yet, please do, and tell her I sent her. I really do think she has amazing products and will purchase even more from her in the future. The brown one I will be giving to Miss. Savannah tomorrow for Valentines Day (along with some super cute shoes that I think should match) and the pink one I'm thinking will probably go in her Easter basket, but I'm not 100% sure yet.

A Birthday Party

So I just finished up week 4 of my homework, not fun stuff. But hey, it's done right! My teachers this semester are slacking on the grading front. My Article #2 for my Business Organization & Management class said not to do it until Article #1 had been graded and we read the comments, but it still hasn't been graded and I didn't want to take any chances so I did it tonight since on our syllabus it says it's due tonight. Jeez!

So last Saturday (not yesterday, the week before) we went over to the Frank's house to celebrate Macy, Olivia, Jillian & Addison's Birthdays. I love when there's parties over at the Frank's house, because I LOVE Arby's Roast Beef and so does Scott, yumm! The kids had a blast playing in the toy room as usual, and they even got to do a pinata, fun! I didn't know they made kinds that you just pull strings instead of hitting it (less mess I guess). Good idea for indoor parties! Also Ginger made these really cute gifts for all the kids. She put their names on cute water bottles (with a straw kind) and put some candy in it, so creative & a great idea! I hope all the birthday girls had a blast and I hope all their birthdays were wonderful!

Zesty Potato Cheese Soup

So it's Sunday. I wanted today to be a relaxing day with not much to do but unfortunatley I didn't get nearly enough done yesterday so that just isn't going to happen. I have to finish up a bunch of Week 4 homework, and then at some point I have to go to Woodman's and I also just need to pick up the house!

So a couple of weeks ago I decided to make Zesty Potato Cheese Soup, which is on PG 133 of a cookbook I've had for awhile. I've made a few recipes out of this book and none of them have disappointed me. This soup has cream of potato soup, evaporated milk, cheddar cheese, pepper jack cheese, and bacon. We've since made this soup since the first time and we added 1 baking potato to it to add a little more to it and its perfect. Scott said this is probably his new favorite soup, and I'm not much of a soup person but I love this as well. This recipe is so easy and I highly recommend purchasing this cookbook (I know, you can find a ton of recipes online, but sometimes it's just fun to have a cookbook in the house). I got this particular cookbook at Walmart a few years ago.

Monster Trucks

Wow. Can't believe I almost missed the news today about Whitney Houston dieing. I haven't been on the computer since this morning and when I logged onto facebook tonight I saw something about it and was confused, so I headed over to yahoo and sure enough. How sad. I hope she finds peace, she's finally released from her drug addictions.

So it's been almost 2 weeks (well tomorrow it would be), but I wanted to post that Scott, me, Connor, Matt, Buddy & Jim went to Monster Trucks. It was suppose to be a guys day out, but I have never been so I wanted to go this time with them. Now that I can say I've been once I really don't have the desire to go again. It was kind of fun, and it was loud but not deafening loud. The boys had a lot of fun and they looked cute with their headphones on, however Connor didn't wear his much. We also bought each boy a "Bigfoot" Monster Truck. We also found out the next day that one of Connor's schoolmates went as well, Braydyn. If the boys decide to go again next year I'll probably pass!

She Can Walk

Just finished making a TuTu. The Lilac TuTu. 1/3 Green, 2/3 Purple. I'll try to have pictures posted tomorrow on FB, expect to see it in the Etsy store sometime next week probably. It's super cute, and I love the colors. It could also be named Tinkerbell, because that's what it reminds me of!

So I'm skipping a list of posts I have written down that I need to get to because I've been waiting a long time to post this, Savannah can walk! YAY! I'm so proud of my little peanut girl! At 14.3 months old, she's 1.7 months ahead of Connor as he walked 2 days before 16 months old. It's so funny, she is so much littler than Connor was at this age, so she definitely doesn't look like she should be walking yet. She started yesterday at Grandma's, so I told Scott he had to go home and charge the battery in the camcorder (I had my exercise class with Chrissy last night) so I could record her when I got home. I got home and she's wearing old Connor PJ's, lol. I made Scott change her into "girl" PJ's, because "we're recording this, and she doesn't need to know we use to put her in boy clothes", lol. Love my logic, right? Anyways, got it on video, and I can't believe I can finally say my baby can walk! She's getting too big!

Buddy's Party

I am proud to announce that I've lost 3.2 pounds this year so far, and officially can fit in my size 5/6 clothes! YAY! Super excited! I've been doing the 30 Day Shred 2-4 times a week, plus I have a 1 hour workout class on Thursday nights. I've also been staying on top of eating salads, and have averaged 3-4 every week. Now only 10 more pounds to go!

So Buddy's 3rd Birthday Party was on January 28th at the Moore's house. His theme was Madagascar and the cake turned out super cute! They got it from Carl's cakes
(the same place we got our wedding cake) The kids also got animal masks and blow up animals and a goodie bag. Buddy got some great presents, including a ton of animal stuff (he's gotta love that!). I hope he thought it was super fun! I can't believe he's 3 already, where does the time go?

A Sleepover

Still feeling pretty miserable........yuck! I should be cleaning our bedroom right now because we have some people coming to measure for the new carpet tonight, but I really just don't feel like it! Hopefully they wont mind to much, lol. So who all watched the Super Bowl last night? I did! And I won a jersey off of it to! Scott & I bet on the game, and I won! Go Eli!

So it's been a week and a half but I wanted to post about Connor's 1st sleepover with his cousin Buddy. We had dino nuggets & fries for dinner, then we made a gingerbread house (where the boys ate WAY to much candy, lol!). Then we watched American Tail and ate some popcorn! We almost had an incident, Buddy was looking at me saying it was time to go home and I thought he was going to cry, but I distracted him enough and it never happened, thank goodness! I think both boys had a lot of fun, maybe we'll do it again in a few months!

2nd Degree Orange Belt

So last night sometime a nasty cold decided to slap me in the face. What a wonderful feeling, yuck! To bad I don't have time to be sick and there is lots to do around here! Gotta finish a bunch of homework, need to go to the grocery store before the Super Bowl, and sometime I have to find time to clean my room because we have someone coming over tomorrow night to measure the carpeting in our room!

So on Scott's Birthday, Connor received his 2nd Degree Orange Belt! He started before all the other kids he's currently doing karate with, so he's the only one with the 2nd degree. All the other kids received their orange belts the day before. They were nice enough to wait to give Connor his 2nd degree for when I could see it. I had missed when he originally got his orange belt, so I really wanted to see this. He's doing really good with karate, and I know he enjoys it because he makes me play karate with him sometimes at night. Currently we're only signed up to go to April 1st, but I'm hoping we can just add on another 2 months and go to June 1st, then we'll take the summer off because we'll be busy with swim lessons and I really want to sign him up for T-Ball!

Happy 28th Birthday

It's Friday, yay! It's been a long week. Savannah has been sleeping like crap (I think she's teething), which makes for an exhausting week. Also we've been looking into flooring places and we have someone coming in Monday night to measure so we gotta get working on cleaning out our room, not fun!

So it's been over a week, and I'm a little behind, but Scott just celebrated his 28th birthday. Before dropping Connor off at school, him & daddy opened all the presents. He got 3 - boxes of cereal, 3 - boxes of candy, 3 - movies, and 3 misc. (Dolphin's chip clip, a wrestling guy & a luggage tag). After school we went to met up with the Moore's and Betty and ate at Ella's Deli for lunch then we went to the Children's Museum. Afterwards I had to run a few errands then we met up with the in-laws for dinner at the Cardinals Nest. Next we came back to our house where Scott got to open more presents and we ate some ice cream cake. He received a new portable DVD player (his broke last spring), a camel (for his Nativity seen), tickets (to the Elimination Chamber - Chrissy, Jim, Connor & Scott will be going), and some other great stuff. It was a busy day but overall I think it was great, I hope he thinks so to. Happy Birthday Mr. Veith!
