Taco Puffs

I was going to try and help Scott out tonight and mow the lawn but unfortunately the mower had gotten to wet and can't start - so it needs to dry tonight - maybe tomorrow? I think tomorrow is the only other opportunity we'll have for awhile because I believe it's suppose to rain the rest of the week. I really hope it doesn't rain much this weekend because it's the city of Sun Prairie garage sale and I want to sell a bunch of our stuff!

So a few weeks ago, I turned once again to my favorite cookbook - Taste Of Home - and turned to page 16 and made Taco Puffs. Scott LOVES tacos so to change things up a bit I figured I would try out this recipe. Ingredients: ground beef, onion (I didn't use any), taco seasoning, large biscuits & cheddar cheese. They turned out really tasty but not as pretty as the picture shows them to be. I think next time I would try and make it in a large bake pan and just make it more like bars instead of puffs. Either way, it was worth making them, and we will be making them again -yumm!

Disney

Got some Rhubarb today from a co-worker, can't wait to make some Strawberry Rhubarb Jam! Will start it tomorrow morning so I can can it tomorrow. Last year I only got 2 - 16oz jars of this, I'm making them 8oz jars this year so I'll probably end up with only 4 (unless I get another batch of rhubarb later). This tasted so good and the kids liked it too so I'll probably end up using a bunch of it next fall for Connor's school lunches.

It's been 3 weeks since we were in Disney - we were down there Sunday-Thursday. Sunday night we went to Downtown Disney, Monday was spent at Animal Kingdom, Tuesday at Magic Kingdom and Wednesday at Hollywood Studios (formally MGM). We had a blast every day and it was a lot of fun and I'm so glad that John & Carol took us - however I should have listened to them and just taken Connor out of school for a week instead of going during Spring Break, it was just too busy to really enjoy all that Disney has to offer. I'm glad we went though and I can't wait till we get to go again - just not during the week before Easter. Oh, and FYI - sports star sighting - Gregg Jennings from the Green Bay Packers was at Magic Kingdom the same day we were!

All Star Sports

Pretty lazy morning over here, which is always a nice change! Ate some wonderful french toast & sausage for breakfast - which everyone in the house always loves. We have a birthday party to go to today and then we'll be heading over to Aunt Missy's for dinner - I made some wonderful looking peanut butter brownies to take over, can't wait to try them!

3 weeks ago we landed in Florida to take the kids to Disney World! The resort we stayed at this time was All Star Sports. It was a pretty neat hotel with two swimming pools - one which was right outside our room which was nice. The "cafeteria" they had offered a pretty good range of food so everyone was happy (the pizza was awesome) and they had cups for $15 that you could use the entire time of your trip to refill, so Scott and I shared one of those (poor Scott ended up drinking a lot of Diet Coke, I hate regular soda, but he can tolerate diet, so my choice won out). The worst part of the hotel was the Internet. If you needed to use the Internet for your stay, don't stay here. I would have to log on, get 2 pages into what I was doing, then I'd have to log off and log back on, then get 2 pages, etc. It was horrible. If you don't care about Internet access, then by all means stay, it was pretty fun there, but if you need Internet access, don't stay!

Frontier

This is the second time I've tried to create this post - they changed the format of the website so I'm having some troubles with it - grr! Cleaned out my closet last night, got a whole box of stuff to go in the garage sale in 2 weeks. Also, today we made a Menards run - got a few seeds for the garden, can't wait to get planting in a few weeks!

So we left for Disney almost 3 weeks ago and we took Frontier Airlines both ways. Both ways there were delays, yuck! On the way there someone called in sick, so we were delayed about an hour - don't they have better policies in place to prevent this? On the way back the flight before us was delayed for some reason, which made us delayed. On the way there it was nice that we got to watch TV for free but we did not get that on the way home. Instead we got a warm cookie and a cup of coffee to enjoy. Which do I prefer? Well the coffee and cookie were nice I had snacks in my bag so I think I would have preferred to have the TV to watch - oh well I guess. Both kids did amazing on the plane, both ways. Connor almost had a little freak out when he realized he was on a plane but he calmed down and did amazing! Not sure when the next flight will be but for the kids it'll probably be awhile - maybe another trip to Disney when Savannah is older!

Deion's Birthday Party

I think my headache my finally be starting to go away, I've had it for the last 32+ hours, ugh! I hope it stays away for awhile! So, I made a TuTu Dress, I'm almost finished with it, just need to wait for my clips to come in the mail tomorrow - super excited for it, it's look really cute!

So right before we went to Florida, Connor went to his 2nd Birthday Party of the year - Deion's. They celebrated down at the Bowling Ally, Scott took him to this one so I do not know a lot of the details to the party. I do know that a few of the other boys in his class were there and Connor gave him this really cool Transformers mini-lego set. I hope Deion likes it and he had a great 5th Birthday!

Hanna's Birthday

So I got all of my homework done that's due, woho! With a few hours to spare too! I can't wait until these classes are done! This summer I will be taking Accounting 1 every Monday & Thursday night, so that could end up being worse........ugh! I guess I'll just have to wait and see, but thankfully only 13 months left until graduation!

So I'm way behind in my posts (like usual it seems these days, maybe I should start trying to do two a day to catch up??). 3 weeks ago we celebrated Hanna's Birthday at Don & Helen's house. We ended up being a little late because of the get together at Aunt Missy's house but I always like to show up to celebrate her birthday, even if it is late. We got her this really cute necklace holder - and I hope she likes it, because I liked it :). I hope her birthday was fabulous - and next year she'll be a teenager! Where on earth does the time go?

Zucchini Brownies

So this weekend is going to be full of homework, not fun! I have a huge project that is due tomorrow night and I just started it yesterday - however I do have 2 of the 7 sections done already, so hopefully if I just spend a couple hours today and tomorrow that should be enough. Only a couple of more weeks left of the semester then I can take a couple of week break before it starts all over again!

So almost three weeks ago now Aunt Missy had a bunch of the family over and I turned to my favorite cookbook - Taste of Home to use a recipe to use up some of the zucchini I still had left in my freezer. On page 228 you will find a recipe for Zucchini Brownies. butter, sugar, eggs, yogurt, vanilla, flour, baking cocoa, baking soda, salt, and shredded zucchini made up the brownies and there was frosting on top which consisted of chocolate chips and peanut butter. I never actually got to try the brownies but considering that most of them were gone in a short amount of time I'm assuming they were pretty tasty. I will definitely consider making these again in the future.

Madison's Birthday

Just finished up with some homework that's due tonight - way to wait until the last minute! Now I'm taking a quick break to check up on a couple of things and make a post before I take over the kids from Scott so he can do his homework. I can't wait to graduate in 13 months! I'm for sure going to take a year or two off before I start up again!

So my baby brother's little girl turned one a few
weeks ago! I can't believe how quickly she's growing up! They had a nice little party with the family up at his grandparents house and it was great seeing people again that I haven't seen in awhile. It's so funny seeing Madison & Savannah interact they really are super cute together. I'm pretty sure Savannah still has Madison in height, but Madison is definitely bigger in weight and feet (Savannah still wears a 3, and I think they said Madison was in a 5 already). It just goes to show how differently kids grow. It should be interesting to see the difference when they're older. Happy Birthday Miss. Madison!

Hair Cut

Crabby children tonight! Ugh! Not fun! Not sure why they are so crabby, Scott said his parents didn't mention them being crabby all day today - maybe they just waited until home to be super crabby! And it being Monday after vacation just makes it that much more awesome - NOT!

So two-ish weeks ago I got my hair cut and highlighted at
MCV Salon. This is the second time that I've been there (first time I just got a hair cut) and it will probably be my last time. I really like the hair cut that I received - best one I've had in a LONG time BUT the highlights are not what I wanted. I wanted to go blonde - which with my dark hair I guess wasn't possible without a very long bleach - so she just started doing things to my hair, which turned out to be highlights. She didn't ask me, or give me options she just started doing it. Don't get me wrong, I love how it looks but it is not what I had in mind and wanted and if I was given the option I would have just gone a light brown instead of the dark brown my hair is with highlights. I really don't understand why she didn't give me options when she thought she couldn't do what I wanted, she just started working away. This however is not the reason I will not be going back - it's because of the price of the services - too steep for me and the only reason I went there in the first place was because I had a gift certificate.

Tangled

Easter is tomorrow, are you ready? Will the Easter Bunny be coming to your house? I know he will be coming to mine! I'm currently baking 3 pumpkin pies for tomorrow - I needed to use the pumpkin puree that was in my freezer before it got bad! I also made some peanut butter cookies and as long as I don't end up eating them all I'll be sharing those tomorrow too.

So last night we sat down and all watched Disney's Tangled. We got this for Savannah for Christmas (I believe, but maybe it was her birthday) and I've been wanting to watch it for awhile. It was just as good as I thought it would be. Super cute and fun for the entire family to watch. Even though it's more of a "girl" movie Connor really enjoyed it - this was my first time seeing the movie but I know he's seen it a time or two before. Definitely will be watching this one again! If you haven't seen it yet, I totally recommend it!

Betty's Birthday

Wow, sorry I've been slacking - the internet at the hotel was horrible so I was lucky if I could get my facebook status updated! However, I now am in ownership of a laptop once again so I'm hoping I can catch up on my posts and not fall behind again!

So, two weeks ago was Betty's Birthday and we
celebrated with dinner at Jim & Pat's house. From us she received a whole bunch of craft supplies (what she asked for) and also a large mug painted by Connor! I'm sure she loved everything and all the other stuff she received as well. I hope her birthday was wonderful and she had a great time!
