Happy Birthday Matt

Savannah is almost asleep finally........sometimes she just fights it so much! Scott should be home in about 30 minutes or so, then maybe we can get some more of this house clean. I told him to bring me home something for lunch....not sure what I want yet, but he'll call me in a little bit and then we can decide.

So Friday was Mr. Moore's 31st Birthday. It was a hot day outside, but in the shade it wasn't to bad. The boys played in the swimming pool, Scott grilled up some brats & hot dogs, and then we had some yummy ice cream cake. We ended up getting Matt some zip ties, the movie Inception, and some beer mugs. He also got some other glasses, some Transformer Toys (yes toys, lol), a couple other movies and some kit to re-do his garage floor. (and yes that is Christmas paper....thats just how Scott rolls, lol) He seemed to enjoy everything, and I hope he had a good birthday! Next up is my birthday!

Sweet Potato Fries & Apples

So right now Scott & Connor are gone helping the Moore's bring home their new swing set, so it's just me & Savannah chillin at home. Next weekend I have my Tastefully Simple party, so I'm trying to get some of the cleaning done. I did manage to clean my entire bathroom, which desperately needed it!! If you are interested in ordering anything from my party, let me know and I'll e-mail you an invite to shop online!

So Friday we started our next foods of Baby Led Weaning. This time it was Sweet Potato Fries & Apples. The Sweet Potato Fries I made the night before, cooked them in the oven with a little bit of oil on top of them. The recipe called for Olive Oil, which I thought we had, but as I was making them Scott informed me he used the rest of it up when we had Asparagus the other night......so I used Veggie Oil instead. She seemed to like the fries, but the Apples were a little more difficult. I had just sliced them with my Pampered Chef Apple Slicer, but I think the pieces were to big....so I'll be making them smaller tonight, probably cut them in half.

Three Junes

It's Finally Friday, YAY! Sometimes I think the week went by super fast and sometimes it seemed to drag on forever......so I don't know....lol......this weekend is another fun filled weekend. Scott is working tomorrow morning, I will be taking the kids to my friend Mandi's Son's 1st Birthday Party, then we'll be meeting up at Molly's graduation party. Sunday I think we'll end up at Aunt Missy's for dinner (not 100% sure though...I know they had a few things going on this weekend also). So I guess it's not completely crazy & filled, so hopefully it doesn't fly by to fast!

So today I finally finished reading Three Junes by Julia Glass. It took me about 3 weeks to read it (with only reading while pumping at work). Overall I liked the characters and I liked the book, however it felt like it was missing things. The book was written in 3 different sections, and I kept waiting for the sections to connect more than they did. It seemed there were a lot of questions left unanswered or for you to guess at, I wish some of the issues would have resolved a little more than they did.

6 Months

So Connor's Gymnastics was officially done last Wednesday, but we have a fun night tonight. They tailor fun nights more towards family coming to watch what your kids have learned. Last time we attended the fun night the parents got to sit in the middle of the floor and take pictures while the kids performed. The kids also got a t-shirt and a cool medal. Not sure if it'll end up being the same thing or not, but either way free stuff (well kinda free........for $65 a month I think we deserve something once and awhile, lol) for Connor = awesome!

So today Savannah is officially 6 months old. I can say at 6 months old she is definitely becoming her own little person. She still does not sleep through the night, and usually gets up twice (1ish and 4ish), and she still sleeps right next to me (so much easier, especially for breastfeeding, since I don't have to get up while 1/2 asleep to pick up a baby and potentially drop her because of my sleep deprivation). She has been "on" solids for almost 2 weeks, she has consumed avocado, cucumber, peaches and carrots. I would have to say her favorite is probably peaches then followed by cucumbers. She is starting to get little pieces off of some of the items, so in no time I know she'll be mowing food down. She is getting better at sitting by herself, "swims" on the floor, and smiles when the mood strikes her. It's so amazing how differently she is compared to Connor, and at the same time how similar they are. I really believe she will crawl way before Connor ever did (12.5 months), and therefore walk before he did (16 months). I just can't believe it's been 6 months since she was born.........crazy.......I'll stop rambling now.......

Memorial Day

Can you believe it's June already? I can't.....it seems like yesterday there was snow on the ground, and now it's going to be around 90 degrees on Friday. This weekend is going to be another busy one. We have AJ's 1st Birthday Party on Saturday, and also Molly's graduation party later on in the afternoon. And also, Friday night, we'll be celebrating Matt's Birthday. We also need to start cleaning the house because I have my Tastefully Simple Party the following Sunday on the 12th.

So this past Monday was Memorial Day. It was pretty eventful day. We started the day by going to Monona to watch Scott's mom as she marched in the parade. Connor had a blast trying to get all the candy that was thrown, even if the bigger kids were being kind of mean and getting most of it, but oh well, he doesn't need all that candy anyways. Afterwards we went home and I planted my garden finally, we headed to brat fest for a little while (Brats, Corn & ice cream = summer is officially here!) we finished the day just relaxing at home and playing with the hose (Connor has a blast squirting Scott, lol).

Brodie's Birthday

So we're all getting ready to head out to the parade. It's suppose to be a hot one today, so hopefully we don't all end up like lobsters. Savannah is the only one sporting the Memorial Day theme with her clothes, but 'eh oh well, at least one of us is!

So yesterday we went over to Cat & Don's house to celebrate Brodie's 15th Birthday. Talked a bunch. Ate some good food. The present theme seemed to be gift-cards (but what else would get you a 15 year old guy??), we got him a Target gift card. Then it was time for strawberry cake, and our "Fabulous" prize for guessing the correct age. Scott's fabulous prize is a free hug from Brodie, which he will cash in at the most embarrassing moment possible. Hope you had a good Birthday Brodie!

WWE

So yesterday we finally finished putting the compost into the planter boxes. We got an entire truckload for only $5 out in Waunakee, thank you Jessica for telling us about it!! Hopefully today (if I'm not dieing of heat stroke), I'll be able to get my plants in!

So Saturday night Jim, Chrissy, Connor, Scott & me went to the WWE - Smackdown showing at the Colosseum. These tickets were purchased as part of Scott's birthday present. Before the show we went to the Colosseum Bar and got some food, then we headed over. It was really a pain in the butt to park because it was super busy between this and Brat Fest, but we got there just in time. Connor wanted to get a Randy Orton "action figure" (not doll, lol), so we got that for him. We had a pretty fun time, Connor was super excited when they started playing Randy Orton's song and he game out, not even five minutes later though Connor fell asleep, lol, at least it was the end of the night.

Peaches & Carrots

Just finished Day 8 of the 30 Day Shred. I would love to think that I'm loosing weight, but after weighing myself after Day 4, and realized I had gained 1.4 lbs, I'm kind of scared to get on the scale again. I do know that my size 8 Capri's that I haven't warn since I was 20 weeks preggo fit once again, but that really doesn't mean much.......I gotta pull out my super cute size 3 shorts I'm holding onto just in case I ever get that small again.......maybe that'll be some motivation??

So Savannah has been getting food for a week now. Some days go pretty good and she seems really interested, some days she could really care less. We were doing Avocados and Cucumbers, but today we switched to Peaches & Carrots. I don't know if it is a coincidence or not, but today was the best day yet. She played for a good 20 minutes, actually gagged herself a couple of times on a carrot, lol, and overall just seemed to enjoy it today.

Bye 3-6, Hello 6-9

So last weekend we got our new railing on the front steps done, YAY! It looks much better! But pretty much anything would look better than rotting wood........but whatever. This weekend is going to be fairly busy for us. Tomorrow we have Jeni's housewarming party, then we're taking Connor to the WWE show they are doing in Madison, then Sunday is Brodi's Birthday Party. Then Monday is Memorial Day, parade & brat fest!! So like always the weekend will go by way to fast, but at least it'll be a long weekend!!!

So on Wednesday Savannah was officially 25 weeks old. Can I still count in weeks?? LOL! Well anyways, I decided to bust out her 6-9 month clothing and put away her 3-6 month clothing. I figured she's almost 6 months old, she should be wearing that size, right? She probably could have gotten away with wearing her 3-6 month clothing a little longer, but not much. I just wanted her to wear all the super cute clothes she has hanging up in her closet with the tags on it, and all the cute clothes I just got from Katie that Lily wore when she was a baby!

Savannah Gets Food

So this week has been especially long.......I just wish the weekend was here already! We're going to hopefully get a lot done outside this weekend (new railing for the steps out front, building the planter boxes, planting), and we also have a Pampered Chef party to go to and a Birthday Party. So a packed weekend ahead!!

So tonight was the big night, Savannah got food!! I was super excited to start Baby Led Weaning,
For her first meal we had decided on Cucumbers and Avocados! Unfortunately I took all the skin off (not thinking), so it was very hard for Savannah to get at the food (since she's new to all of this and it was super slippery), so we ended up handing the food to her. But we followed the "rules" and did not force it into her hand or her mouth. She ended up sucking on the cucumber for a little bit, and getting some small pieces of Avocado in her mouth. I think she was a little confused by the whole experience, but I think she enjoyed it a little too, at least she didn't hate it! It was super cute, and I can't wait to try again tomorrow (this time with the skin on, so she'll be able to pick it up herself).
