30 Day Shred

So tomorrow is the big day. Savannah gets food!! Are you excited? I am.......and nervous at the same time.......I can't believe she's 24 weeks old today, and will be feeding herself tomorrow, crazy!! Don't worry, I'll be sure to take lots of photos! :)

So today I started the 30 Day Shred by Jillian Michaels. The thing that made me buy this DVD was the fact there were 3 levels, so you can start with the easier level and work your way up. Unfortunately I couldn't even make it through level 1........I'm not sure how many circus there were, but I quit in the middle of #2 because my lungs feel like they are bleeding.......when did I get so fat and so out of shape?? I bet 8 years ago I could have gotten though at least 1/2 of the DVD without a problem......ugh........hopefully I will do better tomorrow.

Jim's Birthday

So last night we made a trip to Menard's and purchased everything (but the dirt) that we need for our fruit/veggie boxes I decided I wanted. We purchased: 2 strawberry plants, 6 cucumber plants, 6 zucchini plants, 6 green pepper plants, 6 jalapeno plants, 18 tomato plants, 6 watermelon plants, lettuce seeds, squash seeds, pumpkin seeds, corn seeds, carrot seeds, cantaloupe seeds, melon seeds, green bean seeds and pea seeds (I think that’s it, but I could be missing 1 or 2). So hopefully they will all grow super awesome, then Jessica & I won’t have nearly as much veggies to buy this fall when we can!

So yesterday was Scott’s Dad’s birthday (and my cousin Matt’s too, don’t want to forget him – but we celebrated his birthday Monday night at Cheeseburger in Paradise). We all went over to their house and had dinner. They made pizzas, which turned out really good – super hot (took like 15 minutes to cool do
wn) – but really good! After the pizza he opened up his presents, we got him a jersey & a car to put together (which Connor is going to help with), he also got some t-shirts, slippers, and a grandpas girls frame from the Moore’s. I’m sure there is other stuff too, just can’t remember right now. We then got to eat cake (strawberry cake provided by Chrissy) and pumpkin pie (provided by Betty), yumm!

Your Childs Self-Esteem

So tonight we got to go to Cheeseburger in Paradise for Matt's Birthday (tomorrow), yumm! I had a bacon cheeseburger, and I shouldn't have eaten it all, but it was delicious! I can't believe he's going to be 19 years old tomorrow, I still have vivid memories of him when he was just older than Connor, dang I'm getting old!!

So yesterday I finished the book Your Child's Self Esteem by Dorothy Corkille Briggs. Overall I liked the book and agreed with a lot of things in the book. It gave great examples and specifics on ways to make sure your child will have high self-esteem. The book was written in the 70's, so as you read the book you will notice some things out of date, but most of it still applies. I would recommend for anyone with children to read this book, but don't expect to necessarily agree with everything. Use it as a tool to grow, and pick and choose the things that will really help you help your child.

The Cannery Grill

Pretty quiet morning so far, just sitting around playing on the computer and watching Kung Fu Panda. In a minute though we have to head into the garage and finally start picking up the garage sale stuff from two weeks ago. Then we can finally park back in the garage, so if Mother Nature decides to throw anymore hail in our direction our vehicles will be safe and sound.

So last night we met up with John & Carol for dinner at the Cannery Grill, which we have never been to. I guess I didn't even know it was down there, and had never really heard of it. Not sure why I had never heard of it considering it is only about five minutes from my house, but oh well. It was pretty busy while we were there, Prom people, a graduation party, and lots of others, so it did take a little while for us to get our food. So Scott and I both decided to get wraps, I had the Buffalo Chicken Wrap with curly fries. I have to say the flavor was really good, but there was way to much lettuce in the wrap, it needed more chicken. I would probably go there again, the prices didn't seem ridiculously, maybe just a little more than like a TGIF or Appplebees, but a little more fancy. I could see this restaurant being a great date night restaurant.

Downtown

Sitting around the house watching Hitch with Scott & Savannah while Connor is watching Monster House, pretty much a perfect Saturday night with the family. Going to try and talk Scott into watching Private Practice from Thursday night pretty soon, hoping he'll let me watch it :) .

So today Jessica & Justin came over and we drove Downtown. We walked around the Farmers Market (never been there before). They bought some spicy cheese bread (yum!), we bought some beef sticks, Connor a donut and some cheese curds. It was fun seeing all the plants everyone was selling and enjoying the outdoors, even though it wasn't great weather for it. After that we went to Ian's Pizza, OMG, Mac & Cheese pizza = awesome, Scott had some spicy chicken burrito one that I picked out for him. After that we went into the "big building" as Connor called the capital building. So it was a fun & eventful morning, which meant a good nap in the afternoon!

BabyHawk Mei Tai

Thankfully it is finally Friday night.........this week has been so long, and I am completely exhausted.....it's not even 7:30 and I'm already thinking about going to bed............gosh I'm old, lol. So what plans does everyone have for the weekend? Tomorrow we're going to the Farmers Market with Jessica & Justin, eating at Ian's for lunch, possibly going out/over to John & Carol's for dinner, and then Sunday not sure yet..........

So for Mother's Day Scott got me a BabyHawk Mei Tai (attached is a picture provided from their website babyhawk.com, mine is black with blue/silver flowers). I previously was using a ring sling (which I bought off of e-bay......and I didn't realize at the time, that I got a cheaply made one, so maybe that's why I didn't like it). It always felt like I had to hold onto Savannah while using it, which pretty much defeated the purpose of the sling. All of that has changed with the babyhawk. I tried the front and back hold, jumped a little up and down, and it felt awesome. She feels incredibly secure and I can have my hands free (which will work perfect for the farmers market tomorrow). I am so happy that I found this one. I did quit a bit of research before I decided on the babyhawk, I can't remember which website I saw the recommendation on (I think it was babycenter, but I could be wrong). It did seem a little expensive to me ($80, and don't forget I'm a cheapskate), but I already think it's worth it! This will work amazing when we go to the zoo, mall, anywhere you would normally use a stroller, plus it provides you with bonding time and you don't have to mess with a stroller (pain in the butt while shopping!). So if you are interested in carrying your baby, I 100% recommend this one (pst: it would also make a great gift for someone if you know someone who would use it!)

Something Borrowed

So I was going to watch Glee (which I love) tonight, but I think I've decided against it...... Scott's giving Savannah a bath right now, and Connor is watching a movie, so it's just me sitting in the living room with the screen door open and the small breeze coming in, and it's quiet........and it feels awesome........might as well enjoy the couple of minutes I have to myself and relax......

So today for our anniversary we were going to go see Scream 4.......well i guess since it's been out for awhile they only have like a 9:30 p.m. showing......which just doesn't work for us, especially on a week night. So instead I talked Scott into going to see Something Borrowed........it looked cute, I've seen the book on the shelf at the store so I recognized the name (picked up the book afterwards at Target to read later on). I liked the movie. I definitely wouldn't say it was a fabulous movie and everyone needs to see it, but I'm glad I did. Definitely a Chick Flick comedy/romance. One of those movies you're rooting for true love to win, since in real life it probably would have went a different way. I think I would probably ask for this for Christmas to watch it again.

3 Years Later

So today was a beautiful day outside, around 80 degrees and sunny, what can be better? Of course Scott is already complaining about the heat..........but whatever, I love it! So to celebrate the gorgeous weather we went to the zoo today and walked around for almost 1.5 hours. Connor in/out of the stroller, and I carried Savannah around in my ring sling........gosh I can't wait to get my new babyhawk, I hope I like it better!

So today marks mine & Scott's 3rd wedding anniversary. Has it already been 3 years? Crazy......it seems like only yesterday we were running around doing last minute things before the "big day". So much has changed in the last three years, and so much has stayed the same at the same time. I hope a few more things change for the better in the next couple of months, but all in all I can't complain to much. We've had our rough times but made it out okay.

Mothers Day

So another weekend is almost to a close.....sad....weekends just go by way to fast....at least I get Tuesday off of work! Tuesday is Scott & my anniversary, and we're going to go to Scream 4 and then take the kids to Outback for dinner (thanks to Scott's safety award from work, we get $25 off of our meal!).

So today was Mother's Day. Kind of a bitter sweet day......we started off the morning going to Scott's parents house and making breakfast. We got Pat, Betty, GG & Granny pictures of the "group"(which we had taken at Portrait Innovations---they do an awesome job!), then I got Chrissy a manicure set and gave her a candle. I got a new coffee mug & some dish clothes (which we needed badly), and some new bath & body works antibacterial spray stuff, which will definitely be going in the purse! Afterwards we went home, took a little nap and then headed out to Aunt Missy's for dinner. Brats on the grill for dinner, yumm. We also bought an ice cream cake for dessert from DQ, super yum! We made two trips over to see the cows because Connor is fascinated by them and likes to throw grass at them to eat. So overall it was a good Mother's Day for me. Scott had Savannah make a hand in print picture frame for me (Connor did one for his first Mother's Day too), I got a movie from Connor, and I know Scott bought me a babyhawk mai ti wrap to carry Savannah around in, but it hasn't arrived yet. I should get it in the next week or so, can't wait to use it!!

5 Months Already

So I'm really really really sick of being fat..........I really need to get some motivation to have a good work out, but it's just so hard.....Savannah didn't wake up until 3 a.m. last night, so we're getting better. I just wish she would have stayed sleeping until 7:15 when I normally wake her up instead of waking up at 6 a.m.....but it's better than the 3 times a night she got up twice last week.....ugh....So I did get on the elliptical for 10 minutes tonight and did a couple of other things...it's a start. I really want to get to pre-preggo weight by June 1st, that's 6 months...

So yesterday marks Savannah's 5 months of being alive. And boy is she getting big!! She started rolling over yesterday (back to front) and hasn't stopped since. Scott asked if she was suppose to do that yet, so of course I had to look it up online....according to Babycenter.com, rolling over in both directions is an "emerging" skill and about 1/2 of kids can do it during this month. She also sits momentarily without support, and this is considered an "advanced" skill, so only a few can do this. Which means Miss. Savannah is doing awesome, and despite being small she is doing exactly what she is suppose to!
