Answered Prayers

So other than Scott, the whole family is sick. Connor had his stomach situation last week, which turned into a nose situation. Now Savannah has been coughing & sneezing, and I've been sneezing & have a sore throat.......love being sick......NOT! Oh well, what can you do? Yesterday we moved around Connor's furniture in his room, so he has a lot more floor space. Now we just have to go through his toys, clean the basement, clean our bedroom, get our toilet fixed, paint & put in the new floor in our bathroom, and put in our new kitchen sink & faucet...........does the list never end??

So today I finished reading Answered Prayers by Danielle Steel. It's a book about two life-long friends who are both in horribly lonely marriages. After Faith's children leave the nest, it leaves her lonely and with nothing to do, so she decides to go back to law school. Alex (her husband), in short words, is pissed! Coming home early from a field trip, Faith discovers that Alex is having an affair. She confronts him on this, he blows up, files for divorce, and blames everything on Faith going back to school. Thankfully her friend Brad is there for her all through the mess. Brad's 2 son's are living in Africa during this time, and a tragic accident happens to one of them. Being in a third world country, and without a lot of communication, Brad quickly flies out hoping he is still alive. Brad's wife Pam says she'll meet him there in a day or two, but never comes. this puts Brad over the edge, and by the time he gets back to her (7 weeks later), he says he's done, and he wants a divorce. Throughout this entire book Faith & Brad both have been there for each other to laugh, talk, cry, etc to. They both have feelings for each other, but try to deny them. With everything that has happened, they are finally free from their horrible marriages & able to be with each other at last. This is not my favorite Danielle Steel book, usually I can't put them down, but I did like the overall story and characters.

Scott's 27

So other than updating my blog today, the plan is to hopefully clean the house a little and do some homework. This all really depends on Miss. Savannah though because sometimes she really doesn't like to be put down. I could use my wrap around the house, but I like holding her :)

So yesterday was the big day. Scott turned 27!! I can't believe I was there for his 22nd birthday....it doesn't seem possible that I've known him that long, but it has been that long....just crazy! So for his birthday we didn't end up doing much. I ended up dying my hair & cleaning the kitchen & living room. Scott ran out and got us all Taco Bell for lunch. Then for dinner we met his family out at Chili's. Unfortunately about 15 minutes after getting there Connor decided he didn't feel good, so I had to take the kids home. Thankfully they still got me what I wanted for food, and brought it to me afterwards. After they were done eating they came over to the house and we had ice cream cake (Reese's from Dairy Queen), and opened presents. Scott got a weed whacker, tickets to WWE from his sister, that's coming in May (Connor & I will be going with him to that), the kids got him some new cologne, he got some TV on DVD sets, and I also got him some Gary Allan tickets for his concert at the Crystal Grand in April. So overall I think he made out pretty good!

Buddy's 2

So today Connor is over at grandma & grandpa's for the day, so it's just Savannah & me at home. She slept okay last night....not the greatest, but definitely better than the night before. She went to bed at 9:30, and we woke up at 1:30 and then at 5 when Scott was leaving for work (he's such a great daddy, he changed her diaper before he left!)

Well Sunday was officially Buddy's 2nd birthday. I can't believe he's 2 already, but that also means that Connor will be 4 in a couple of months.....crazy!!! So for his second birthday we all went to the Children's Museum in Madison, which I've never been to. It was pretty fun, Connor was a little disappointed there was no dinosaurs, but overall I think it was a hit with the kids. Connor really liked the kitchen area where they could "make" pies & pizza's. After that we all went to Ella's Deli for lunch. I haven't been to Ella's Deli since the night that Scott met, so it was pretty coon. I got a Buffalo Chicken Sandwich which was super yummy, Scott got some weird, humongous salad, and Connor got grilled cheese & fries.

Birthdays x 5

So this was a nice long weekend for us. Scott had off work Monday & Tuesday. It would have been nice to get some mroe stuff done around the house (like clean Connor's room), but it just didn't happen....oh well! I guess, hopefully; it'll get done some other time.

So this past Saturday we had a birthday party to go to out at Cat & Don's house. We were celebrating 5 people's birthdays!! Buddy was turning 2, Addison 3, Jillian 3, Olivia 5, and Macy 10. It was pretty fun, and the food was good. The only bad part of the party was when the kids started opening presents. Connor was so upset because he was pretty much one of the only kids left out. Thankfully this did not last long and Scott & Grandpa were able to get him distracted with some toys.

7 Weeks Later

So this weekend is Buddy's 2nd birthday. I can't believe he's going to be 2!! It seems like just yesterday he was born.............time goes by way to fast!!! So tomorrow is the big birthday party. They're actually combining Buddy, Addison, Jillian, Olivia & Macy's birthdays, and just having one big party. We would never be able to do this for our kids because both of our sides of the family are very large, and I couldn't expect someone else to be able to throw a party for a bunch of people they aren't related to. That is why we just throw one huge one for Connor's. I'm not sure yet exactly what we'll do for Savannah's....since her b-day is in winter, we really can't have one huge party, b/c we can't fit everyone in our house.....we might just have to do Scott's family during Round Robin, and then my family the weekend before.......

So anyways, we're over 7 weeks into the life with 2 children. It's crazy!! What can I say?? Savannah definitely does not sleep as well as Connor use to at this age. By now Connor was sleeping 6-7 hours at a time....the most Savannah has done is 5 hours, but only once or twice, it's usually 3-4 at night......ugh....I'm a little tired. But this is one reason I've decided not to go back to work next Wednesday like originally planned. I've decided to use the full 12 weeks of FMLA, and not go back to work until February 23rd. I'm excited about spending more time at home with the kids, and hopefully I'll get some more things accomplished in the next 4.5 weeks, but I'm not counting on it....... Poor Connor, I wish it was warm out, because then we could go down to the park or something, but instead we stay inside playing with toys and watching movies all day.....today we watched Open Season 2 like 3 times........thankfully he doesn't sit there and just watch it the entire time, he gets up and go plays for awhile.......so I've probably seen it more than him, even though I'm on the computer a lot. Doing homework, on facebook, BBC, etc. Well that's enough rambling for one day, here's Savannah's picture at 7 weeks (1/19)

Barefoot

Dealing with fatigue...........but still can think of 2.5 weeks from now........I'm dreading the fact that I have to go back to work, dreading the fact of someone else raising Savannah, just like Connor. I wish I could stay home with them.......maybe I can find a new job? I doubt it....but I'll look. Sitting here with the family, watching the football game. Will Seattle pull off the upset, or will New Orleans come back and win, like they should??

Today was book club at my house, Barefoot by Elin Hilderbrand is the book. I started reading it yesterday, and managed to finish it today, just in time, at 3:30. The story of 3 women who are just trying to get away for the summer. Away from their problems, away from reality...... All the characters tie together nicely, but yet, they all have their own story which will drag you in. The characters are believable, and I think that is why I liked the book so much. Totally recommend reading it to anyone!

Safe Haven

So we are now officially in 2011. Can you believe it?? New Years was pretty uneventful. Scott & I switched off picking out movies to watch, while we ate some good food. Connor was asleep by 11 p.m., and Savannah missed midnight by about fifteen minutes. Shortly after minute we were in bed snoozing away. Yesterday was the Rose Bowl. Wisconsin was a disappointment, but I don't entirely believe it was our fault.....there were a few bad calls. Jessica & Justin came over and watched the game, and Rob came over at half time. After the game we played a few games of Clue, which was a lot of fun. Now Scott wants to designate a monthly game night, sounds good to me!!

So a couple of days ago I started reading the book Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks. I received this from GG for Christmas. I'm pretty sure I've read every Nicholas Sparks book there is, because I LOVE his work. This book definitely did not disappoint. I was hooked pretty much from the beginning. Its about a women who was married to an alcoholic, and abusive husband. She finally gets away and starts a life in a new town with a new name. She finds love & a family that she has never had and couldn't imagine a better life. Unfortunately after everything seems perfect, he finds her. If you like Nicholas Sparks, you will love this book. The only thing wrong with his books is that I like them to much, and I read them to quickly. I highly recommend it, and I can't wait until his next book comes out.
